KILA KILA SPORTFISHING - CAPT. GABE HEFLIN - DEC. 2011

We had a nice day on the water. Beautiful conditions and flat calm seas. We had a new guest today, and were excited to get him on the water. As we left the harbor, crew Joe Thrasher and KJ Robinson set out the lures in hopes of a decent strike. Within the first hour I noticed two Sailfish off our starboard bow about 100 yards. We made several passes at the pair in hopes of a strike, but they had other plans. As we pressed on, we had one Blue Marlin knockdown on our long rigger. Unfortunately it didn't stick and it wouldn't come back for a second attempt. We did end up finding a nice meter mark on smaller and decent size Ahi. As the day grew on, we opted to switch to lighter stand up tackle and were able to provide some nice table fare for our guest. Keep you posted on our future trips.

Aloha,
Captain Gabe Heflin
